i don’t have any formal training in design. i’m more of a developer, although i could hardly call myself that. i started browsing the internet back when we talked about 400baud modems and y-terminals. never thought of the internet much until i left my teaching job and started writing little Perl scripts for an internet garage-company around 1995 or so. i decided to jump into this bandwagon called the web and taught myself to build websites. a little company known as Hotmail with less than 30 employees hired me without much fanfare. i became a web developer there. subsequently worked for Microsoft, left Microsoft, traveled around, chased my own tail, and now i build sites for the pure sport.
i use Textmate to code the html and css for all my work. tried using Dreamweaver but hated it, before that i used Homesite. the content management system i use is textpattern. it suits my needs although troubleshooting can be time consuming. this site is hosted at godaddy, one of the cheapest hosting providers, they’re not the best, but they’re cheap and reliable. i’ve taken the photographs and created the graphics. i can hardly call me a designer, but all you see here is self taught, trial and error, online tutorials.
